Pharmacokinetics and Pharmacodynamics (Training Workshop)

This two-day workshop provides an introduction to the the primary elements of pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics, whilst giving you an opportunity to get hands on experience with analysis, modelling and simulation during the tutorials.

Save up to 25% with our early bird offer - ends 27 April 2023.

This popular training workshop covers the fundamental aspects of pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics. This two-day event takes the format of lectures introducing concept, basic theory and practical examples reinforced with data analysis and modelling and simulation. Delegates will be expected to play an active role in analysis, interpretations and discussion.

Learning Outcomes:
  1. To introduce the fundamental principles of pharmacokinetic (PK) and pharmacodynamic (PD) data analysis
  2. To consider other contributory factors and processes that influence PK and PD measurements and outcomes
  3. To appreciate and understand the importance and contribution of PK/PD by first intent to inform preclinical and clinical study design

This workshop is also supported by virtual pre-learning that will be circulated to registrants

Dr Rob Willis
Rob Willis BSc, PhD is currently Principal Scientist, Pharmacokinetics at MSD providing strategic DMPK input as part of a multi-functional lead optimisation drug discovery programme team.
In his role, Rob is responsible for the design and implementation of key DMPK and in vivo efficacy studies to evaluate molecules from start of chemistry through lead optimisation to candidate selection. He has previously worked at GSK and Heptares with over 15 years’ experience providing DMPK input to early-stage discovery programmes across a number of therapy areas. He is experienced in PK, PK/PD and PBPK modelling including human PK and efficacious dose predictions from preclinical data. Rob has recently completed his PhD investigating PK/PD modelling of acute inflammatory challenge models.

James Clarke
James holds an MSc in Biochemistry from the University of Kent. James has over two decades postgraduate experience in the pharmaceutical industry across multiple disease areas within Pfizer, AstraZeneca, Shire, BTG and more recently GSK. In the past, James has held roles in drug target validation, DMPK and clinical pharmacology. In his current role as a Director of Clinical Sciences James oversees clinical trail/programme design and execution for first time in human to proof of concept clinical studies in oncology.
