20th World Congress of Basic and Clinical Pharmacology (WCP2026)



ASCEPT will host IUPHAR's 20th World Congress at the Melbourne Convention Centre in Melbourne, Australia.


The International Union of Basic and Clinical Pharmacology (IUPHAR) and the Australasian Society of Clinical and Experimental Pharmacologists and Toxicologists (ASCEPT) invite you to the 20th World Congress of Basic and Clinical Pharmacology 2026 (WCP2026).

The world’s pharmacology and therapeutics community will be welcomed to the Melbourne Convention Centre in Melbourne/Narrm, Australia from 12 - 17 July 2026. Students, early career pharmacologists, global leaders in clinical pharmacology, and innovators at the cutting edge of drug discovery and development, innovation and engagement with the pharmaceutical industry and academic sectors will gather to inspire, innovate and create real change in world-leading research and development.

Registration

Registration is now open.

Early bird registration: until 1 April 2026
Standard registration: 2 April - 30 June 2026
Late registration: from 1 July 2026

Call for abstracts

Deadline: 15 September 2025

Bursary available to BPS members

BPS members who intend to present an abstract at the congress can apply for funding via the BPS' WCP2026 Travel Bursary.

The bursary aims to cover:
  • Early bird registration for the abstract presenter.
  • And travel and accommodation costs of:
    • up to 50% for Full Members and Fellows
    • up to 75% for Undergraduates and Early Career Members
Awards will be based on the number of applications, the allocated budget and the Society’s assessment of the most economical mode of travel and a reasonable standard of accommodation.
