The International Union of Basic and Clinical Pharmacology (IUPHAR) and the Natural Products Section, invites you to participate in the
6th IUPHAR World Conference on Natural Products and Traditional Medicine,
taking place in Dakar, Senegal, from 26 - 28 November 2025.
This conference marks a significant milestone as it takes place on the African continent - a region renowned for its extraordinary biodiversity and rich natural resources. Africa’s vast ecosystems harbor an unparalleled diversity of plants, fungi, and
other natural products that have been used for centuries in traditional medicine. The continent is also home to a vibrant community of researchers dedicated to exploring these natural treasures, unlocking their potential for modern pharmacology and healthcare.
The congress will serve as a platform for scientists, clinicians, industry leaders, and policymakers to exchange knowledge, forge new partnerships, and promote innovative research in natural products and traditional medicine.

Bursary available to BPS members
BPS members who intent to present an abstract at the congress can
apply for funding via the Non-BPS Meeting Travel Bursary.
The bursary aims to cover:
- Early bird registration for the abstract presenter.
- And travel and accommodation costs of:
- up to 50% for Full Members and Fellows
- up to 75% for Undergraduates and Early Career Members
Awards will be based on the number of applications, the allocated budget and the Society’s assessment of the most economical mode of travel and a reasonable standard of accommodation.
