The British Pharmacological Society and the British Toxicology Society are holding a one-day online meeting with the theme ‘AI-Driven Innovation for Smarter and Safer Drug Development’. The meeting will focus on the opportunities and challenges associated with the increasing use of artificial intelligence throughout the process of developing a new medicine, considering aspects of efficacy and safety.
Learning outcomes
1. To better understand the roles of cellular organelles in health and disease
2. To understand the current state of the art in identifying and studying organellar drug targets
3. To appreciate the challenges of drug targeting to intracellular sites
4. To translate our new understanding to the development of novel therapeutics
The Cambridge lon Channel Forum was established in 2011 by Eddy Stevens and Clare Jones as a joint initiative between Pfizer Neusentis and Medimmune. The concept was to create an environment for industry and academic scientists working within the ion channel field in the Cambridge area to share data and ideas, ensuring all presentations and discussions were based around scientific data with little commercial focus. The CICF is organised by AstraZeneca, Metrion Biosciences and the British Pharmacological Society
Pharmacology Futures is a collaboration between the University of Edinburgh, the British Pharmacological Society (BPS) and the Royal Society of Edinburgh (RSE) and aims to explore the contribution pharmacology will make to therapeutics over the next 10 years. The conference will explore recent innovations in pharmacology and will conclude by looking ahead to the future of UK biomedical research.
This conference will form part of the celebration of the 300th anniversary of the Edinburgh Medical School in 2026 and will take place within the University of Edinburgh campus, at some of its most historic sites, such as the Anatomy Lecture Theatre in the Old Medical School and the Playfair Library at Old College, where the conference dinner will be held.
Hear about the latest developments in the field of pharmacogenetics and stratified medicine. Multidisciplinary experts will come together to review, and offer solutions to, the challenges facing the adoption of genomic medicine into the clinic.
A two-day international meeting held ahead of WCP2026, bringing together pharmacology educators, researchers, and curriculum leaders from across the globe to share innovations, challenges, and best practices in pharmacology and therapeutics education.
Join us in Cambridge on 7-8th October 2024, where we will bring together established leaders and emerging investigators exploring the use of covalent modulators in drug discovery. The conference will feature the latest developments in covalent hit identification and optimisation, including the targeting of cysteine and other amino acid residues. There will be in depth analysis of the data needed to generate covalent dug candidates and discussion around best practices in the field.
